Suzanne L. Collins, KHS historian and photographer, signs a copy of AMPHIBIANS, REPTILES, AND TURTLES IN KANSAS for Dexter Mardis (behind), a biology student from Friends University in Wichita while Joseph T. Collins, one of the co-authors, waits his turn to sign. The revised field guide is the first such publication to seperate turtles from reptiles and Collins co-authored it with Travis Taggart of Fort Hays State University located in Hays, Kans. Suzanne L. Collins provided many of the photos in the book. Joseph T. Collins wrote the text based on his Kansas research since the late 1960's. Travis Taggart designed and created the detailed maps for the book. This book signing took place at the 38th Annual Meeting of the Kansas Herpetological Society held at the Great Plains Nature Center in Wichita< Kansas during November 2011.
