Photos from our adventures during the month of December 2018. We spent most of the time along The Forgotten Coast in the Apalachicola and St. George Island area.

Not all of the photos are in the order they were taken, but many are dated.

As of early January we have not edited and uploaded most of the photos taken. Check back often for updates.

I sort of got behind with posting photos and adding daily adventures! However, the past few days have been quite enjoyable. A few highlights are given below. More photos will continue to be posted as well, and more updates later as I find time!

1. For the most part the weather has been warm and either sunny or partly cloudy. We have spent a lot of time on the beach either walking with Max, metal detecting, taking photos, picking up sea shells, or just walking!

2. Nothing much new metal detecting. I did uncover a sliver earring, but other than that just more modern coins, fishing stuff, and WW II ear bullets. I have some of the bullets to some children that were interested in metal detecting and also seemed interested in history.

3. Lots of great photo opts! Sunsets have been beautiful (photos in the gallery) and both Suzanne and I have taken a number of silhouettes of people and other things. We have visited with people from around the country as well as around the World. We have emailed some of the photos that we have taken of them to them so they can remember this beautiful island as we continue to remember it after each visit.

4. Suzanne's longtime friend, Karen, visited for a few days and they enjoyed shopping in Apalachicola and also eating sea food, walking on the beach, and visiting.

5. This has been a very enjoyable and relaxing trip.

More to be posted later!

On Wednesday the 19th the weather cooperated and Captain Dan took us to Little St. George Island for part of the day. We did some metal detecting, photography, and walked where we could get to on the island. Since the hurricane and past rains, however, many of the trails were under water. We did find a few items metal detecting and got some good photos both on the island and during the trip to it and the return trip.

A highlight of the day was that Captain Dan went fishing while we were on the island and gave us a couple of nice fish which he cleaned for us. We took them to a local restaurant in Eastpoint where hey prepared them for us. A great fresh fish meal.

We spent much of the 20th around our place on St. George Island. I did try some video work on the beach and while walking with Max. Some videos are posted at the end of the photos at this gallery. All videos regardless of when they were taken will be posted after the still photos at the end of the gallery.

We went to Wakulla Springs on the17th and took two boat trips. We got some great photos, and we had a couple of very interesting tour guides. A few of the photos are posted at this time, and more will be posted after we return to Kansas.

We have also gotten some nice sunrise and sunset photos as well as getting in a little more metal detecting. A few of those related photos are also now posted at this site.

It was a warm and sunny day with the temperature close to 70 degrees F. I sent the drone back up today and got more photos. All were taken with the drone about 100 meters above our house or close to directly above our house. Several examples are posted.

We went to Apalachicola this afternoon. Suzanne went to a special concert at a historic church (information about the church is posted in one of the photos) and I did some metal detecting. No luck metal detecting!

A sunny, warm, and perfect day along the Forgotten Coast! Suzanne and I spent some time in Apalachicola as well as time on the beach. I got in some more metal detecting, but once again no outstanding finds! A few photos from today are being added to the gallery.
